Everything below is in the latest beta build: the changes from 8 and 9 October. Highlights first, the full fix list after.

What’s new

  • Hunter’s Valley: a new no-PvP grinding world with five hunting spots for every level. Talk to Ranger Ray at THE LOT.
  • Auto-Hunt: stand on a glowing hunt spot, press Q and your character hunts for you. Pick the gun, range and auto-loot; it tracks kills, XP and XP per hour. Party friendly: shared kill XP and no friendly fire.
  • New LOT dealers: Dutch (heavy weapons), Kev (armour and gear) and Hank (melee). Vinnie still sells guns and ammo. The redesigned shop shows clear stats and an upgrade/downgrade comparison.
  • THE LOT is an open plaza: the fence, front trees and bollards are gone, planters keep cars out, and there are string lights, a fire lounge and a music terrace.
  • Kaiju species: every monster has its own moves (Tidal Surge, lava pools, Spike Wave, lightning storms) and scales to the number of hunters. An escaping kaiju now leaps back into the sea.
  • Nightmare Asylum dread round: with two or more players, a fast monster can snatch someone when the lights go out (free them!). Monsters roll bigger, faster or stronger every run, and it is a lot scarier.
  • Sniper scopes: in first person, hold the right mouse button to zoom, with longer range and a hit marker.
  • Take the wheel: when the driver gets out, a passenger presses E to drive.
  • Shootout is open to everyone: start it solo, anyone can join, and the whole city gets the announcement.
  • Chat shows when players come online or go offline.

Combat & weapons

  • Melee feels responsive again: presses are no longer eaten and swings hit where you face.
  • Automatic guns fire at their real rate when you hold the trigger.
  • Punches knock pedestrians back (yes, into the water).
  • Knocked-over props no longer block bullets.
  • O no longer punches on foot (it still drops oil while driving).
  • No more instant death from one sidestep off a quay.

Vehicles & traffic

  • Much smoother passenger rides, and passengers no longer get stuck in cars.
  • The driving camera stays in the fixed view (no more swinging behind the car).
  • Traffic jams near players clear up: stuck cars back up, make a U-turn or take another street.
  • Parked cars no longer block the street or creep into lanes; abandoned cars get towed.
  • A car summoned under an overpass drops in open sky nearby instead of glitching through.
  • Crash ejections throw you clear of the car.
  • Getting into cars and bikes stalls less, and a sinking car now tells you “Too late to bail!”
  • Car summon is disabled inside event and mission maps.

Events & missions

  • Street Race can be joined again after the first race.
  • BangBus no longer spawns in traffic, and kaiju police park properly (no more cruisers in the sea).
  • Asylum: fixed getting stuck on stairwells, and the HUD meters no longer overlap.
  • E prompts work properly in Precinct Siege and Nightmare Asylum.
  • Mission maps: walk-in rooftops stay in first person.
  • Rooftop bonus crates spawn near players and last longer.
  • Loot crates always pay out, and holding E on a crate no longer tries to grab a car.

NPCs & police

  • Police leave after a chase instead of camping THE LOT, and stuck 1-star wanted levels clear.
  • Pedestrians no longer freeze after a panic; police and NPC punches only land in reach.
  • Respawns no longer drop you on quay edges.

Interface

  • Cleaner mission card (with a minimise toggle), a redesigned GOALS tab and a bolder character screen.
  • “Contracts” are now “Missions”, and SARGE got a proper nameplate.
  • Fixed garbled menu text after visiting another world.
  • Training-world event cards explain “HOLD H TO LEAVE, THEN ENTER”.

Network & stability

  • Less rubber-banding after Wi-Fi hiccups.
  • A new “Connection interrupted – reconnecting…” banner and faster reconnects.
  • Laggy players are no longer wrongly flagged while moving or driving.
  • Fixed multi-second server freezes; healthy servers are no longer restarted by mistake.
  • Character select is more reliable when the backend is slow.
  • Server memory and crowd clean-up for smoother long sessions.

Economy & progression

  • New accounts start with 0 gold (existing gold is untouched).
  • Achievement cash pays once per account (alts still get the tier, points and title).
  • Training-monster kills no longer count toward RAMPAGE.
  • Recruiting a squad in training worlds is refused before you pay.
  • A daily anti-farming reward limit (normal play is not affected).

Security

  • Hardened login sessions, saved sign-ins and rewards; logging out now ends your session on the server.
  • The sign-in screen links the Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

Known issue

GOALS still shows achievement cash for a tier your account already claimed. A fix is coming.

Beta notes

HavocTown is still in beta, so features and balance can change while we test.
